I.Introduction

Please take a moment before you continue.

Luciana carries her belief the way some women carry a candle down a hallway—cupped, steady, more concerned with not letting it go out than with anyone watching her hold it. Her faith is not decorative. It has been tested by the exact circumstances designed to test it, and it has answered. She prays for the women who cannot yet pray for themselves. She keeps a kind of order inside herself that no schedule, no count, no closed door can disturb. Spend ten minutes with her and you will understand why the oldest traditions describe the soul as a room the world cannot enter uninvited.

II.The Film

Ten minutes with Luciana

A short film in the Jailbirds in Flight series. Running time approximately ten minutes. Please watch, if you can, in one sitting.

Filmed inside — part of the ongoing project to change the way our culture sees the women it puts behind walls.

III.What She Taught Us

Inner Freedom

Luciana taught us that faith is a room the world cannot enter uninvited. Hers has been tested by exactly the circumstances designed to test it, and it has answered. She reminds us that inner freedom is built long before any door opens—and that a woman with an intact soul is already free, whatever the walls say.

IV.A Line She Loves
A favorite line from Luciana will live here — one sentence that opens the whole door.
